[Kunimi's spent the better part of the weekend convincing himself that he didn't really have that great a time with Whelk, and he really doesn't like him very much, and he'll have no problem finding similar dudes to hook up with.

Then Whelk texts him and he pretty much explodes into a whole Kunimi-sized cloud of butterflies.]

In most of the languages I have experience with, the letters only mean sounds, not concepts.

I’d been up all night. Tests to grade on fourth declension nouns. Terribly interesting stuff, but I tend to not like to waste my Saturdays with it.

[As much as Whelk would have liked to continue living his life denying that positive emotions of any kind exist, he has to admit that the memory of Kunimi's beautifully accented cries of "Whelk-san" sound much better in his ears than otherworldly whispers do. His prep period does end in twenty minutes though.

[This is a conundrum. He decides that he won't put a stop to this line of conversation unless he has to, but won't actively attempt to aggravate it either. It is a show of great restraint on his part.]

[So here's a minor crisis point for Kunimi. Does he play it cool, take careful steps toward friendship with benefits until he's completely sure more would be welcome? [So, here's a major crisis point for Whelk. "Like" is a very strong word - a very strong word when it comes to Barrington here, who is not liked by anyone, including family members, that of which includes his own mother. This is a man who during the peak of his life had one person who could continuously tolerate him for more than a couple of hours, and even Czerny had been somewhat of a captive audience (they were just roommates, just roommates).

[Whelk decides at that moment that this kid has absolutely no idea what the fuck he's talking about or what the fuck he's doing. Under this conclusion, a decent human being would end the conversation there and allow this naïve - possibly idiotic - college student to go about his youth without further interference.]

Have you managed a visit to Harry's yet?

I can't speak to whether or not Harry's deserves its reputation, but it is the only place that serves it in town, and it's a hard formula to fuck up.
